These terms cover how schools and families use the Future Skills Passport. In plain terms: Save a Life is free forever; you can try all twelve skills free (30 days for schools, 7 days at home); paid plans are billed annually and renew automatically unless you cancel; you can cancel any time and keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for; the lessons and content are ours and are licensed to you for teaching and home learning, not for resale; and pupil data is handled under our Privacy Notice and, for schools, our Data Processing Agreement.
The Future Skills Passport (the “Service”) is an online life-skills learning programme for primary-school pupils, provided by Spark2 Education Ltd (“Spark2”, “we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales, company number 11297655, registered office 15 Millbourne Road, Feltham, Greater London, TW13 6NJ.
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are the agreement between you and Spark2 for use of the Service. By creating an account, starting a trial, or subscribing, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Notice, and — where a school subscribes — our Data Processing Agreement (DPA), both linked in the footer.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| School | A school, trust or other organisation that subscribes so its staff and pupils can use the Service. |
| Home user | A parent or carer who subscribes for use at home with their own child or children. |
| Teacher | A member of a School’s staff who creates classes and sets up pupil access. |
| Pupil | A child who uses the Service, whose access is set up and supervised by a Teacher or Home user. |
| Subscription | A paid plan giving access to the full Service for an agreed period (normally one year). |
The Future Skills Passport gives primary-aged pupils (Years 3–6, ages 7–11) a set of practical life-skills lessons — delivered as short daily activities and full skill journeys — with progress, badges and a class view for teachers.
The Service is designed to be set up and supervised by an adult. Pupils do not create their own accounts independently: a Teacher (for schools) or a Home user (for families) sets up pupil access, chooses the year group, and is responsible for supervising use. You agree to make sure pupil use is appropriately supervised.
The Save a Life skill is available free of charge, with no card required and no time limit, to schools and families alike. We may change what is included in the free tier, but we will not start charging for content you are already accessing for free without telling you first.
New schools can try all twelve skills free for 30 days; families can try them free for 7 days. No charge is taken during the trial. If you do not subscribe, at the end of the trial the eleven paid skills simply pause and Save a Life remains free — pupil progress is kept, not deleted. Only one trial applies per school or per family.
Access to the full Service is by annual Subscription. Current plans are:
| Plan | For | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Small school | One form of entry | £249 / year + VAT |
| Medium school | Two forms of entry | £349 / year + VAT |
| Large school | Three or more forms of entry | £449 / year + VAT |
| Home — one child | A single child at home | £49 / year |
| Home — family | Up to 4 children in one household | £79 / year |
Prices are shown on the pricing page and were correct at the effective date above; the price that applies to you is the price shown at the time you subscribe. School prices are stated excluding VAT, which is added at the applicable rate. We may change prices for future renewal periods, and will tell you before a change affects you.
Payments are handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not see or store full card numbers. Schools may alternatively be invoiced where we have agreed this in advance; invoices are payable within 30 days.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, using the payment method on file, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will make renewal information available in your account. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time (see section 8).
We may issue discount or promotional codes. Codes are subject to any conditions stated when issued, cannot be exchanged for cash, and may be withdrawn.
If you are a Home user buying as a consumer, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing for a refund. Because the Service is digital content made available immediately, by starting to use the full Service within that period you ask us to begin straight away and acknowledge you may lose this 14-day cancellation right once access has begun. This does not affect your separate right to cancel auto-renewal at any time, or your legal rights if the Service is faulty.
The Service is licensed for teaching and home learning by the School or Home user who subscribes. You agree not to:
We may suspend access where there is serious or repeated misuse, or non-payment, and will normally tell you first where we reasonably can.
All lessons, text, images, designs, software and other materials in the Service are owned by Spark2 or our licensors, and are protected by intellectual-property rights. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service and its content, for the duration of your Subscription or free access, solely for teaching pupils at your school or learning with your own children at home.
Teachers may display and print reasonable amounts of material for use with their own classes. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our content to you. The Future Skills Passport name and logo are trade marks of Spark2 Education.
How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Notice. In short: the Service collects the minimum data needed, stores pupil data in the UK, shows no adverts and uses no tracking of children, and never sells pupil data.
Where a School subscribes, the School is the data controller for its pupils’ data and Spark2 acts as its data processor under our Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of your agreement with us. Where a Home user subscribes, Spark2 is the controller as described in the Privacy Notice.
We work hard to keep the Service running and to improve it, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may carry out maintenance, update features, or occasionally withdraw parts of the Service. Where we plan significant changes or downtime, we will give reasonable notice where we can. The Service is provided on a reasonable-skill-and-care basis; we do not promise it will meet every specific requirement you may have.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under law. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss that is not reasonably foreseeable, for loss not caused by our breach, or — where you use the Service in the course of a business or as a school — for loss of profits, loss of business or educational outcomes, or indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us for the Service in that period.
We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, to reflect changes to the Service, pricing structure, or the law. When we make significant changes we will update the version and date above and, for material changes affecting current subscribers, tell you directly (for schools, by email to the account contact). Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time (section 8). We may end or suspend your access if you materially breach these Terms and do not put it right after we ask, or on non-payment. If we end your access other than for your breach, we will refund any fees covering the period after access ends.
These Terms, and any dispute arising from them or from use of the Service, are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your home nation’s courts. We would always rather resolve any concern directly first — please contact us.
